کلیسا میرے خون سے جونک کی طرح پھولا ہوا ۔ میرے زور بازو سے سلطنت کا ہاتھ سارے پر قابض ہے ۔

My morning tears make gardens of waste lands. My heart’s blood glistens in the tulip and the rose.

ویرانہ میرے گریہ سحر سے رشک گلستاں بنتا ہے ۔ میرے جگر کے لہو سے لالہ و گل کی بہار ہے ۔

Come, time’s harp is tense with new melodies. Come; pour out strong wine that will melt the very glass.

اک ساز کے تاروں سے تازہ نغمہ ٹپک رہا ہے (نئی نوا پیدا ہو رہی ہے) ۔ وہ شراب جو شیشہ پگھلا دے ہم پیالے میں ڈالی ۔

Let us give a new order to the tavern and the taverner, and let us raze all ancient taverns to the ground.

ساقی اور میخانے کو نیا نظام دیں پرانے میکدوں کی بنیاد ڈھا دیں ۔

پروانے کی طرح شمع کے طواف میں زندگی بسر کرنا کب تک اپنے آپ سے اس قدر انجان ہو کر جینا کب تک ۔ اٹھ کہ اب بزم جہاں کا اور ہی انداز ہے مشرق و مغرب میں تیرے دور کا آغاز ہے ۔
