تا بر تو آشکار شود راز زندگیخود را جدا ز شعله مثالِ شرر مکن
If thou wouldst read Life as an open book, be not a spark divided from the brand.
تاکہ تجھ پر راز زندگی منکشف ہو، شرر کی مانند اپنے آپ کو شعلے سے جدا نہ کر۔
بهرِ نظاره جز نگهِ آشنا میاردر مرز و بومِ خود چو غریبان گذر مکن
Being the familiar eye, the friendly look, nor visit strange-like thy native land.
نظار ے کے لیے صرف (حقیقت ) آشنا آنکھ لا، اپنے وطن کے اندر مسافروں کی طرح نہ گزر۔
نقشی که بسته ئی همه اوهام باطل استعقلی بهم رسان که ادب خوردهٔ دل است
O thou by vain imaginings befooled, get thee a reason which the Heart hath schooled!
تو نے جو نقوش بنائے ہیں وہ اوہام باطل ہیں، ایسی عقل پیدا کر جو دل سے تربیت یافتہ ہو۔
