جنت میں جرمن دانشور (گوئتے ) کی پیر عجم (رومی) سے ملاقات ہوئی۔

Where is a poet of such stature! Though not a prophet, he is possessed of scripture!

یہ جرمن شاعر بھی اس بلند مرتبت (شخصیت) کی مانند ، پیغمبر تو نہیں لیکن کتاب رکھتا ہے۔

To the one who knew divine secrets he read about the pact of Iblis and the doctor.

شاعر نے اسرار قدیم کے دانا (رومی) کے سامنے ، ابلیس حکیم کے پیمان کا قصّہ پڑھا۔

Rumi said, ‘You who bring words to life, and hunt angels and God;

رومی نے کہا اے وہ شخص جو سخن کو روح سے مزیّن کرتا ہے، تو فرشتوں سے لے کر حق تعالیٰ تک کو اپنے فکر میں اسیر کرتا ہے۔

Your thought has made its home in the inner recesses of the heart, and created this old world anew.

تیرا فکر دل کی گہرائیوں میں اتر جاتا ہے ، تو نے جہان قدیم کا از سر نو پیدا کیا ہے۔

At one and the same time in the body’s frame, you have seen the tranquility and the restlessness of the soul; you have been a witness to the birth of the pearl in the shell.

تو نے پیکر میں جان کا سوز و ساز دیکھا ہے، تو نے صدف کے اندر گوہر بنتے دیکھا ہے۔

Not everyone knows the secret of love; or is fit to reach these portals.

ہر کوئی رمز عشق سے آگاہ نہیں، ہر کوئی درگاہ عشق کے شایان نہیں۔

‘He who is blest, and a confidant, knows that cunning comes from Iblis and love from Adam.’

'صرف خوش بخت اورمحرم (اسرار) ہی جانتا ہے، کہ چالاکی ابلیس سے ہے اور عشق آدمؑ سے '
