This world of ours is full of a strange jugglery. Heaven does not have this kind of a revolving sky.

یہ دن رات یہ شعبہ باز دن رات کہاں کہاں جنت یہ گھومتا ہوا گنبد نہیں رکھتی ۔

Its Joseph is a stranger to imprisonment; and its Zuleikha’s heart does not know how to cry.

اس کے یوسف نے قیدی کی تکلیف نہیں دیکھی اس کی زلیخا رو رو کر دہائی دیتا دل نہیں رکھتی ۔

Its Abraham has not been cast into a fire; its Moses does not have a live spark in his soul.

اس کا خلیل آگ کا حریف نہیں (مقابلہ نہیں کرتا) اس کا کلیم روح میں ایک چنگاری بھی نہیں رکھتا ۔

Its barque has never had to cope with stormy winds, and never has been tossed about by seas that roll.

اس کی کشتی جھکڑ میں نہیں پھنسی، اسے طوفان کے تھپیڑے کا کوئی ڈر نہیں ۔

There cetainty has never been assailed by doubt. There union is not plagued by separation’s fear.

وہاں یقین کی گھات میں کوئی تر دد (شک) نہیں ہے ۔ وصال جدائی کے دھڑکے سے خالی ہے ۔

How can you have the joy of straying from the path, if the path that you have to tread is fixed and clear.

ادھر ادھر بھٹکنے والی عقل کے وہ مزے کہاں ۔ ا گر منزل کا راستہ الجھا ہوا نہ ہو ۔

Never live in a world devoid of joy and zest, where God exists, but Beelzebub does not exist.

ایسی بے ذوق دنیا میں زندگی بسر نہ کر کہ جہاں خدا تو ہے مگر شیطان نہیں (ایسی بے مزہ دنیا میں نہیں رہنا چاہیے جہاں یزداں تو ہو لیکن شیطان نہ ہو، ہر طرف نیکی ہو لیکن بدی کے ارتکاب کا امکان نہ ہو) ۔
