ہزاران سال با فطرت نشستمبہ او پیوستم و از خود گسستم
For thousands of years, with nature I did dwell —
I severed ties with myself, in her embrace I fell.
میں ہزاروں سال فطرت کےساتھ رہا ہوں —
میں نے اپنے ساتھ تعلق منقطع کیا اور اس کے ساتھ تعلق بنایا۔
ولیکن سر گذشتم این دو حرفستتراشیدم ، پرستیدم ، شکستم
Yet my story boils down to these two lines —
I carved idols, worshipped, then broke their confines.
لیکن میری سرگزشت ان دو حرفوں میں آ جاتی ہے —
میں نے (تصوّرات کے) بت تراشے ، ان کی پوجا کی، پھر انہیں توڑ دیا۔
