خیال او درون دیدہ خوشترغمش افزودہ جان کاہیدہ خوشتر
His image in the eyes, oh, what a splendid sight —
A growing sorrow and a fading soul, a bittersweet delight.
آنکھوں میں اس (محبوب) کا تصور خوب ہے ۔ اس کا غم بڑھا ہوا (اور اپنی) گھلتی ہوئی جان اچھی لگتی ہے ۔
مرا صاحبدلی این نکتہ آموختز منزل جادۂ پیچیدہ خوشتر
A wise heart once imparted this subtle art —
The journey of winding roads is better than the journey’s end apart.
ایک دل والے (حقیقت آشنا) نے مجھے یہ بھید سکھایا ۔ الجھا (پیچیدہ) ہوا راستہ منزل پر پہنچ جانے سے بہتر ہے ۔ منزل سے پیچیدہ راستہ زیادہ اچھا ہے ۔ کیونکہ منزل مل جائے تو آرزو ختم ہو جاتی ہے اور آرزو ختم ہو جائے تو دل مر جاتا ہے ۔ اس لیے اہل دل کے نزدیک وصل سے جدائی بہتر ہے ۔
