وفا ناآشنا بیگانہ خو بودنگاہش بیقرار از جستجو بود
Unfamiliar with loyalty, alien in its ways —
Its gaze restless, in pursuit of another's gaze.
تو وفا سے انجان، سب سے الگ تھلگ رہنے والا (میرا دل ) تھا اس کی نظر (کسی کی) تلاش میں بے چین تھی ۔
چو دید او را پرید از سینۂ منندانستم کہ دست آموز او بود
When it saw, it flew from my chest on a whim —
Unaware was I, my heart was tamed by another's limb.
جب (دل نے) اسے (محبوب کو) دیکھا تو میرے سینے سے اڑ کر نکل گیا ۔ میں نہیں جانتا تھا کہ (دل) اس کا سدھایا ہوا (پرندہ) تھا ۔ مراد عاشق کا دل ہر وقت معشوق کی جستجو کرتا رہتا ہے ۔
