آتشکدہ اور مسجد اور مند اور گرجا نے تو بس یہ مٹھی بھر گارا پیدا کیا (تو نے اپنی ساری توجہ چونے اور پتھر کی عمارتوں کے بنانے میں صرف کر د ی ان میں خدا کو تلاش کرنا شروع کر دیا)
ز حکم غیر نتوان جز بدل رستتو ای غافل دلی پیدا نکردی
Freedom from others' dictates, only the heart can grant —
O heedless, within you, a heart's seed you didn't plant.
دل کے علاوہ کوئی غیر کی غلامی سے نجات نہیں دلا سکتا ۔ او بے خبر تو نے اپنے اندر دل (ہی) پیدا نہیں کیا (جس میں عشق ہو جو تجھے صرف اللہ کا بندہ بنا دے) ۔
