چہ میپرسی میان سینہ دل چیستخرد چون سوز پیدا کرد دل شد
You ask me what is this heart in your breast —
It is your intellect that has been blessed with feeling.
تو کیا پوچھتا ہے کہ سینے میں دل کیا ہے ۔ عقل نے جب سوز پیدا کر لیا تو وہ دل بن گیا ۔
دل از ذوق تپش دل بود لیکنچو یک دم از تپش افتاد گل شد
While it feels, it is alive —
But when it ceases to feel, it is dust
دل حرارت کی لذت سے دل تھا لیکن جو دم بھر حرارت سے دور ہوا (سوز سے محروم ہوا) تو مٹی ہو گیا ۔ (مراد ہے دل، ذوق تپش ہی کا دوسرا نام ہے ۔ )
