دلا نارائے پروانہ تا کینگیری شیوۂ مردانہ تا کی
How long, my heart, will you be as foolish as the moth? —
How long will you be unlike a man’s heart?
اے دل! پروانے کی سی نادانی کب تک (کب تک بے عقلی سے بے مقصدیت کی زندگی بسر کرتا رہے گا) ۔ تو کب تک مردوں کا انداز اختیار نہیں کرے گا(کب ہمت سے کام لے گا) ۔
یکی خود را بہ سوز خویشتن سوزطواف آتش بیگانہ تا کی
Just for once let your own fire consume you —
How long will you fly round the fire of others?
ایک بار خود کو اپنی آگ میں جلا کے دیکھ دوسرے کے شعلے کا طواف کب تک (غیروں کی آگ کا طواف تو کب تک کرتا رہے گا) ۔
