آتا ہے ياد مجھ کو گزرا ہوا زماناوہ باغ کي بہاريں وہ سب کا چہچہانا

آزادياں کہاں وہ اب اپنے گھونسلے کياپني خوشي سے آنا اپني خوشي سے جانا

لگتي ہے چوٹ دل پر ، آتا ہے ياد جس دمشبنم کے آنسوئوں پر کليوں کا مسکرانا

وہ پياري پياري صورت ، وہ کامني سي مورتآباد جس کے دم سے تھا ميرا آشيانا

آتي نہيں صدائيں اس کي مرے قفس ميں!ہوتي مري رہائي اے کاش ميرے بس ميں

کيا بد نصيب ہوں ميں گھر کو ترس رہا ہوںساتھي تو ہيں وطن ميں ، ميں قيد ميں پڑا ہوں

آئي بہار کلياں پھولوں کي ہنس رہي ہيںميں اس اندھيرے گھر ميں قسمت کو رو رہا ہوں

اس قيد کا الہي! دکھڑا کسے سنائوںڈر ہے يہيں قفسں ميں ميں غم سے مر نہ جائوں

جب سے چمن چھٹا ہے ، يہ حال ہو گيا ہےدل غم کو کھا رہا ہے ، غم دل کو کھا رہا ہے

گانا اسے سمجھ کر خوش ہوں نہ سننے والےدکھے ہوئے دلوں کي فرياد يہ صدا ہے

!آزاد مجھ کو کر دے ، او قيد کرنے والےميں بے زباں ہوں قيدي ، تو چھوڑ کر دعا لے
