You are the apple of my eye, my heart’s delight.
اپني وادي سے دور ہوں ميںميرے ليے نخل طور ہے تو
I am remote from my valley, to me you are the Burning Bush of Sinai!
مغرب کي ہوا نے تجھ کو پالاصحرائے عرب کي حور ہے تو
You are a houri of the Arabian Desert, nursed by the Western breeze.
پرديس ميں ناصبور ہوں ميںپرديس ميں ناصبور ہے تو
I feel homesick in exile, you feel homesick in exile.
غربت کي ہوا ميں بارور ہوساقي تيرا نم سحر ہو
Prosper in this strange land! May the morning dew quench your thirst!
عالم کا عجيب ہے نظارہدامان نگہ ہے پارہ پارہ
The world presents a strange sight: The vision’s mantle is torn apart!
!ہمت کو شناوري مبارکپيدا نہيں بحر کا کنارہ
May valour struggle with the waves if it must! The other side of the river is not to be seen!
ہے سوز دروں سے زندگانياٹھتا نہيں خاک سے شرارہ
Life owes itself to the heat of one’s soul: Flame does not rise from dust.
صبح غربت ميں اور چمکاٹوٹا ہوا شام کا ستارہ
The Syrian evening’s fallen star: Shined brighter in the exile’s dawn.
مومن کے جہاں کي حد نہيں ہےمومن کا مقام ہر کہيں ہے
There are no frontiers for the Man of Faith, he is at home everywhere.
